Nurus’ Calma is the Modern Office’s Calmest Corner
There’s no denying it that quiet moments are increasingly rare in today’s fast-moving offices. Finding a moment of serenity amidst the constant buzzing, ringing, and chiming almost feels like a quiet rebellion. Enter Calma: Nurus’ acoustic pod that creates a warm, private embrace in the middle of the workplace storm. Winner of the Green Good Design Award 2025, the modular, mobile pod is designed to shape modern offices with gentle boundaries rather than harsh walls, inviting people in with its sound absorbing panels and warm lighting. Here, calls, meetings, and work sessions all happen undisturbed, yet without isolation.

Designed for Focus, Built for Comfort
Founded in 1927 in Turkey, Nurus has grown from a small carpenter’s workshop into an international brand. With a legacy spanning nearly a century and more than 100 prestigious design awards, the company is known across the globe for blending craftsmanship with forward-thinking workspace solutions. Since its launch and showroom opening at Chicago (2024), Nurus builds on its presence in the US market, introducing Calma, a culmination of over a decade of research and development in acoustic innovation tailored for the needs of focused work environments.
Calma represents Nurus’ vision for creating focused, flexible, and comfortable workspaces. Designed to offer controlled isolation without confining the space, the workplace product combines advanced acoustic engineering with a sense of visual and acoustic serenity.

Calma’s Sustainability meets Human-Centered Design
Engineered to elevate the acoustic experience, Calma acoustic spaces are certified Class A under the ISO 23351-1 / 2021 standard, offering best-in-class sound insulation for focused work. On top of that, with a reverberation time of just 0.30 seconds, Calma creates an environment where distractions fade, allowing users to concentrate with ease. Inside, a fresh air circulation system and VOC-free materials make it not just a place to work, but a healthier, happier corner of the office. Calma’s skin, its tactile felt and whisper-soft walls, comes from 50% recycled PET and Basotect® G+ acoustic foam, proving that silence can be sustainable too.
Nurus goes above and beyond when it comes to sustainability. Produced in the company’s 45,000 sqm solar-powered, zero-waste technology base, Calma is built with 95% in-house vertical integration — meaning the company keeps a watchful eye from concept to final polish. Crafted with FSC-certified wood, powder-coated metalwork, and recycled textiles, it’s a capsule of sustainability as much as design ingenuity. Awards like the Green Good Design 2025 and the German Design Award confirm what Nurus already knows: beauty is more meaningful when built responsibly.
built with VOC-free materials and a continuous fresh air circulation system, it also ensures a healthier and more comfortable workspace
The pod is defined by a considered palette of materials and finishes, chosen to evoke a sense of calm and tactile comfort. Soft grays, muted greens, and warm neutrals create a visual language that’s both understated and inviting, supporting focus without distraction. The surfaces, wrapped in acoustic panels crafted from eco-conscious materials, offer not only sound absorption but a pleasing, textured feel.
Its clean, minimal form is complemented by discreet functional details — from a soft, warm lighting system to a subtle green LED indicator, signaling availability without intruding on the space. Calma’s design achieves a quiet sophistication, balancing privacy, comfort, and simplicity within the dynamic context of modern workspaces.
