When designing this Birmingham home, designer Katie Ridder put a fresh spin on the couple’s art, antiques, and treasures from their travels—“pieces meaningful to us,” homeowner Melanie says. “We had this amalgam of antiques—my grandmother’s Irish sideboard, a 200-year-old four-poster bed made by a craftsman on my great-grandparents’ farm, Jay’s parents’ Eames chair, pieces from my grandparents’ château in the Périgord, which Katie was willing to use even though they’re a little long in the tooth.” A soft blue Rogers & Goffigon stripe wraps a guest bedroom. The William and Mary style tables are antique.

A love letter to fellow hopeless romantics, designer Eneia White’s enchanting pastel guest bedroom at the 2023 Kips Bay Decorator Show House Palm Beach sets the stage for a present-day fairy tale. The New York-based designer envisioned a romantic garden setting by wrapping the walls in a Sanderson print of silver and lilac blooms and laying a grandmillennial-inspired floral rug by Stark underfoot. The cabana-style canopy bed commands the room, wrapped in shutters painted Prescott Green by Benjamin Moore, then crowned with a bell jar lantern in the interior for a cozy glow. Embroidered peach draperies trimmed in pompoms by The Shade Store add a subtle flirty detail.
