Leadership team
I am Editorial Director of Future’s Homes network, and I am very proud to run the brilliant media brands Homes & Gardens (including its sister print magazines Country Homes and Period Living) and Livingetc. I’ve been writing and editing interiors, design, decorating and lifestyle content for my whole career and I am utterly passionate about it. It spills into my home life, too, as I renovate projects with my husband George. Style-wise I am most comfortable in pared-back spaces, where a curated selection of pieces have room to breathe. I love raw linen, textured plaster, weathered wood and luscious marble. I then also try to mix in an imaginative or surprising touch – like a bespoke cornice (we recently did a fun bobbin design), an accent chair with a frill or a stand-out pattern in a small entryway. It’s all about the detail.
I am the Editor (Digital) of Homes & Gardens online. Before starting this position, I had completed various interior design courses at KLC Design School, as well as working across Ideal Home, LivingEtc, 25 Beautiful Homes and Country Homes & Interiors as an interiors writer. When the opportunity to work on such a prestigious, influential brand came up, I just couldn’t pass up on the offer. I have long admired Homes & Gardens, and to me, this brand epitomizes luxury and beauty at its finest. My perfect space would be a grand Georgian property – it is an architectural style that I admire greatly – though my style varies wildly from anywhere between classic design to modern rustic simplicity. If I could pick one interior designer to remodel my home, it would be Jake Arnold. His California-cool interior choices are unparalleled.
I have written about interiors, property and gardens since 1990, working my way around the interiors departments of women’s magazines before switching to interiors-only titles in the mid-nineties. I was Associate Editor on Ideal Home, and Launch Editor of 4Homes magazine, before moving into digital in 2007, launching Channel 4’s flagship website, Channel4.com/4homes. In 2018, I took on the role of Global Editor in Chief for Realhomes.com, taking the site from a small magazine add-on to a global success. I was asked to repeat that success at Homes & Gardens, where I have also taken on the editorship of the magazine. I am a serial renovator and also own rental properties, so bring first-hand knowledge to the subjects I oversee. I have many design heroes, but if forced to pick two, they would be Jake Arnold and Irene Gunter – both create beautiful homes that are inviting and practical.
I made my first foray into writing about homes 10 years ago when I joined the Homebuilding & Renovating team as web editor. In 2015 I was asked to also look after Real Homes’ predecessor Realhomesmagazine.co.uk and the Period Living website which has now found a new home on Homesandgardens.com. In 2020 I began overseeing product content for them all. When I bought my first house seven years ago my love of interiors suddenly became a lot more hands on. It is an ongoing project but I have put our advice to good use, tiling a bathroom wall and converting my attic.
I joined Homes & Gardens in February 2022 as a Content Editor. After studying English Literature at University, I have worked as an Ecommerce Website Editor, Content Writer and Buying Intern at multiple independent businesses within the luxury retail and lifestyle sectors. My role at Homes & Gardens unites my love, experience and passion for the world of design and desire to create inspiring written content. In terms of my own personal style, I’m a huge lover of color and pattern, I especially love a pastel color scheme. I also enjoy nothing more than discovering new trends, brands and products, whether that be in fashion, interior design or lifestyle – my wish list of new things to buy is never-ending.
I am Editor of Homes & Gardens magazine. Before joining Future Plc, I worked as an interior stylist and set designer, specializing in editorial and commercial photo shoots as well as installations, exhibitions and events. My background within this field means I have a particular interest in the creative ways to make a house a home, as well as hunting down the best places to source beautiful things.
I’m a homes writer and editor with more than 20 years’ experience in publishing. I have worked across many titles, including Ideal Home and, of course, Homes & Gardens. My day job is as Chief Group Sub Editor across the homes and interiors titles in the group. This has given me broad experience in interiors advice on just about every subject. I’m obsessed with interiors and delighted to be part of the Homes & Gardens team.
Interiors team
I am the Head of Interiors at Homes & Gardens; I have a background in lifestyle and interior journalism and a passion for renovating small spaces. You’ll usually find me attempting DIY, whether it’s spray painting my whole kitchen, don’t try that at home, or ever-changing the wallpaper in my entryway. Homes & Gardens has been such a huge inspiration and has influenced my style since I moved into my first rental and finally had a small amount of control over the decor and now I love being able to help others make decisions when decorating their own homes.
Charlotte Olby
I am Content Editor at Homes and Gardens, having joined the team the week before Christmas 2023. Following a 5 year career in Fashion, and most recently working as Interiors Editor for British heritage department store Liberty, my role at H&G fuses my love of style with my passion for interior design. I am currently undergoing my second home renovation in Surrey with my husband and our dog Indie – you can follow our journey over on @olbyhome!
I am a News Writer at Homes & Gardens, focusing mainly on interior design content. I studied Fashion Communication at university and prior to joining H&G in 2023 worked in various PR and marketing roles, as well as writing for a Scandinavian-based lifestyle publication. I am inspired by all things design and in interiors I’m most drawn to timeless mid-century design, regularly sourcing vintage furniture pieces for my home in Cambridge.
I am a News Writer at Homes & Gardens, with a focus on interior design. Most recently, I worked with Better Homes & Gardens, where I wrote and edited content about home decor, gardening tips, food news, and more. Before that, I studied Journalism and English Literature at New York University. I’ve moved around quite a bit in the last several years, most recently making the trip to London, and love transforming each new space into a comfortable retreat that feels like home. When it comes to decor, I’m most drawn to unique vintage finds and calming colors.
Molly Malsom
I am a Content Editor for Homes & Gardens, which I joined at the beginning of 2024. Before joining the team, I worked at Homes & Antiques magazine and The English Home magazine, writing about everything from timeless room designs to sourcing the best vintage and pre-loved homeware. In my own home, I favor neutral, calming color palettes and love to decorate with art and decor pieces collected on my travels.
Gardens team
I am Head of Gardens at Homes & Gardens. My editorial career began 15 years ago on Country Living magazine, sparking a love of container gardening and wild planting. After more than a decade writing for and editing a wide range of consumer, business and special interest titles, I became editor of floral art magazine The Flower Arranger. I then trained and worked as a floral designer and stylist in London for six years, creating floral installations at iconic venues and styling for some amazing interiors brands. My love of gardening has endured throughout, and I now grow an abundance of vegetables and cut flowers on our rambling Yorkshire plot, whilst also renovating our Edwardian home. I am particularly interested in sustainable gardening methods and growing flowers and herbs for wellbeing.
I started working as a journalist back in 2008 after gaining my National Council for the Training of Journalists qualifications. I wrote news and features for online news agencies and content providers, as well as spending time as Assistant Editor for trade newspapers and magazines. Gardening piqued my interest, however, and I studied for a Level 3 Horticulture qualification. This opened up the chance to work as a professional gardener for several years.
Since then I’ve worked at the world famous arts and crafts garden Hidcote Manor Garden in the UK, and also spent several years at Hanbury Hall gardens in the UK. During my gardening career I also specialized as a kitchen gardener for the likes of Soho Farmhouse, and also produced year-round vegetables, microgreens, fruit and herbs for chefs at a prestigious restaurant.
Throughout my time working outdoors I continued to write and also ran a blog called Perennial Nerd for many years, talking about my life working in gardens. My passion for gardening and a love for inspiring others to grow led me to write how-to growing guides and professional tips for clients and websites in the horticultural sector, and I’m now bringing that same expertise and passion to Homes & Gardens.
I am a Content Editor within the Gardens team at Homes and Gardens. I have been working as a gardener and garden writer for several years. Whilst completing my horticultural traineeship at the Garden Museum in London, I was able to gain experience at many of the UK’s world famous gardens, including Sissinghurst, Lowther Castle, and Iford Manor. Following this, I worked for two private estates in Tuscany, Italy. During this time, I developed expertise regarding practical gardening and growing in dry and hot climates. I have managed kitchen gardens and cut flower gardens, providing food and flowers to be enjoyed on a daily basis. Encouraging others to grow, even on a very small scale, is important to me. When not gardening, I write about gardens and garden history. My work ranges from ‘how to’ guides, book reviews, and longer form copy on the history of gardening and garden design.
I am a News Writer in the Gardens team at Homes & Gardens with five years of journalistic experience. I studied BA Journalism, Media and English Literature and MA Magazine Journalism at Cardiff University. During my studies, I focused on sustainable lifestyle content, with experience such as interning at pebblemag.com. Before coming to Homes & Gardens, I was in the editorial department at the Royal Horticultural Society and worked on The Garden magazine. I grew up in the Oxfordshire countryside, gardening with my parents and learning through trial and error in the form of oversized vegetables. I am passionate about sustainable living and like to encourage gardeners to make greener choices to help tackle the effects of climate change with a trowel in hand. I am also a houseplant lover who is slowly running out of room for her ever-growing collection.
Ecomms team
I’m Head of eCommerce at Homes & Gardens. Before I joined Future in 2022, I got my start in reviewing at the iconic Good Housekeeping Institute, testing and reviewing a wide range of household products and appliances – everything from vacuums to washing machines to dog toys to exercise bikes. I also worked on content for Prima, Red, Mens’ Health and Womens’ Health. I then moved to BBC Gardeners’ World Magazine, assessing gardening tools, machinery, and wildlife products, and worked on content for BBC Good Food and Radio Times. Outside of obsessing over product reviews, I love a good bit of mid-century modern design and coming up with ways of rewilding gardens and outdoor spaces.
I’ve been writing for Homes & Gardens since the beginning of 2021, covering all things product-related. A lover of al fresco dining, I’m always on the hunt for the best barbecues and pizza ovens for entertaining friends and family. I’m also a firm believer that everyone should have their own herb garden, and can often be found taming my over-zealous rosemary plant.
As an appliance aficionado and lover of language, I’m most at home when eCommerce editing. I’ve tested a huge range of different homes products, but I trained as a barista whilst studying at Oxford University, so I specialise in coffee products. I’ve since tested over thirty of the best coffee makers on the market. Before I joined H&G, I worked for a luxury perfume house and was trained to be a Master Perfumer. I’ve tested all the leading brands (and some more niche ones which you might not know) so I know candles and home fragrance instinctively and intuitively. With a background in luxury, I’m an advocate for quality and style over quantity and fads. The secret to my heart is simplicity in products, in style and, of course, in homes and gardens.
Before I joined Homes & Gardens, I studied English at the University of Oxford, where she sharpened my critical writing skills. I have also worked on the other side of the aisle writing press releases for regional newspapers and crafting copy for Sky. I love being able to combine my business savvy with my creative flair as H&G’s eCommerce Editor, connecting you with the products you’ll love. When I am not in the office, you’ll find me entertaining friends al fresco or out in the country.
I’m the Style Editor for Homes & Gardens, making sure our home-savvy readers are always aware of the latest trends in the interior design world. I graduated with a Master of Arts in Magazine Journalism from New York University, and I’ve spent a decade holding editorial roles at shelter publications ELLE DECOR and Domino Magazine, where I refined my love of mid-century modern furniture and minimalist design. It’s my mission to find the products that are actually worth buying; whether that’s a simple throw pillow for a living room refresh or your next sleeper sofa to host overnight guests. When I’m not scouting for the next big thing in interiors, you’ll find me at a spin class, hosting yet another dinner party, or planning my next overseas adventure.
Solved team
Gabriella is Head of Solved at Homes & Gardens. She is a DIY enthusiast and a lover of all things interior design, often found antiquing or browsing the aisles of her local hardware store.
For much of the past decade, Gabriella has worked as a freelance writer, crafting copy for national publications and renowned homeware brands. She served as the Content Manager for the ethical homeware brand Nkuku, assisting in shaping its tone of voice on its journey to securing B-Corp status. More recently, she was Assistant Editor for Homebuilding & Renovating Magazine, focusing on case studies for the magazine and website, as well as writing features about issues surrounding historic and listed building projects.
I am the junior writer for Homes & Gardens online. I joined the brand in June 2022 after completing my degree in English Literature and interning as a sustainability writer. My role at Homes & Gardens allows me to unite my passion for interiors and the outside world with my love of writing. My personal style is influenced by dark, earthy color schemes and I am an advocate for cozy homes you can escape the world in. Outside of work there is nothing I like more than taking life slowly and pottering around my kitchen baking.
I am a news writer for Homes & Gardens, working in the solved section. I have been writing content for Future PLC for the past five years, in particular Homes & Gardens, Real Homes and GardeningEtc. I write on a broad range of subjects, including organization, decluttering, ‘how to’ and ‘when to’ articles, balancing functionality and aesthetics in the home. I am a graduate student from the University of Sussex, and have a degree in Psychology. I also spent some time working at the BBC. My hobbies include netball and photography. My favorite interior designers include Jake Arnold, Kelly Wearstler, Annie Sloan, Lauren Nelson Design and Studio Giancarlo Valle.

I am the Head of Celebrity Style News at Homes & Gardens. I first joined Future Plc as a News Writer across their interiors titles, including Livingetc, before becoming H&G’s News Editor in April 2022. Now, I lead the Celebrity/ News team.
Before joining Future, I worked as a News Explainer at The Telegraph, following my MA in International Journalism at the University of Leeds. During my BA, I lived in New York, where I also wrote for NYC-based publications. I currently live in London, where I enjoy weekends browsing local design stores and the city’s many coffee shops.
I joined the Homes & Gardens team as a News Writer in the summer of 2023. My writing focuses on celebrity homes and emerging trends as well as the psychology behind design decisions. I am fascinated by the ways that interior design is a reflection of our larger culture, why people gravitate towards particular styles, and how this affects us. Before joining Future, I worked as the head of content for luxury linens and interiors brand, Fig Linens and Home. I have an MSc from the Oxford University School of Anthropology, and a BA in creative writing and sociology from Sarah Lawrence College.
My own home is a bright and colorful oasis, filled to the brim with artfully combined pattern, texture, and material.
I joined Homes & Gardens’ team in January 2024 as News Editor, with a focus on celebrity style and entertainment content. I got my start in media as a digital editorial assistant at ELLE Canada, and have since written about lifestyle and culture for publications such as Nylon and i-D.
My love of film is rivalled only by one with a great soundtrack, and I hope to someday decorate a Nancy Meyers-worthy kitchen.

Anna Aylward
I’m the Social Media Editor at Homes & Gardens, joining the team in the summer of 2023 to take over the running of our many social media platforms. I started my career in magazines working at Wallpaper* in 2018 with a huge passion for interiors, and evolving my love of social media into a job. You can always find me with at least one phone in hand, taking pictures and staying in touch with our wonderful online community, and I’m constantly on the hunt for the perfect pieces for my future home.
Contributing editors
Philippa Craddock launched her flower business from home in 2009. It has grown to become one of the world’s most renowned and highly respected design studios and floral brands. Working with aspirational clients around the world, including Vogue, BAFTA, Christian Dior and the Victoria & Albert Museum, as well as an array of private clients. Philippa’s style is inimitable and was placed on the world stage in 2018, with the cascading floral archways, decorating the façade and interior of St George’s Chapel in Windsor, for the wedding of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Philippa now shares everything she has learnt, supporting others with a desire to create their own unique, sustainable and successful flower business.
Louise Roe is a journalist and TV presenter specialising in fashion and lifestyle. She began her career writing for women’s glossies including Elle, In Style and Vogue.com, before moving to Los Angeles. She stayed for 11 years, presenting MTV’s makeover show Plain Jane, and reporting from the red carpet at various awards shows, including the Oscars and Golden Globes. Louise now lives in London with her husband and their two daughters, where they are currently renovating a townhouse. After beginning her Interior design-focused Instagram feed @LouiseRoeHome, decorating has become one of her favourite things to research and experiment with.
Irene studied Art History before training at the prestigious Inchbald School of Interior Design. As Creative Director of Gunter & Co, Irene oversees the design for every project alongside her team of designers who manage the day-to-day implementation. Inspiration for each project comes from a myriad of sources: from historical architectural details to contemporary building materials or vintage furniture to contemporary sculptures. She centers her designs around the tension between organic forms and regular repetition to create spaces that catch the eye, are thought provoking and packed with interesting talking points.
The interior design studio, Annabelle Holland, and the interiors brand Anbôise are names synonymous with luxury British interiors. The award-winning interior design studio, launched in 2010, is renowned for combining contemporary and classic furniture, creating a sense of evolution over time and providing unique, multi-layered designs with depth and interest. It was this drive to help others create unique homes with character, which led Annabelle to launch luxury interiors brand Anbôise in June 2021. That, and an overheard conversation by a Venture Capitalist, who shared her enthusiasm for the concept. With this support, and the assistance of a team of Art and Antique experts, Anbôise has been propelled to the forefront of luxury British interiors almost overnight, offering evolving collections of Handmade British Furniture, Lighting, Art, Antiques & Accessories.
New England-raised, New York-based interior designer Kathleen Walsh creates tailored and serene interiors for clients in New York City, Westchester and Fairfield Counties, The Hamptons, New England, and beyond. Kathleen entered Pratt Institute for Fashion but discovered what she really loved was the tactile, three-dimensional qualities of fabric and the transformational qualities of color. Interiors allowed her to combine both with her love of architecture and sculpture. She finished her studies with a BFA in Interior Design and then earned her MBA in Management from Baruch College. Walsh spent a decade working with some of New York’s leading designers and architects on residential and commercial projects internationally and throughout the greater New York area before establishing her own firm in 2004.
Natalia Miyar is one of the strongest international interior design talents to emerge in recent years. As a trained architect she approaches design with a skilful understanding of balance and proportion, creating spaces which are both considered and lively with a finely tuned eye for materiality. Her eponymous London atelier is a conduit for creative collaboration characterized by a confident and artful use of color, pattern and texture. With bases in London and Miami the fast-growing transatlantic team spearheaded by Natalia create effortlessly luxurious homes that are sought by a global stable of private clients favouring a client-faced approach.
Founded in 2009, the Sims Hilditch design practice has become one of the most trusted and respected in the industry. Its couture approach combines interior architecture, interior design and procurement management within one concept-to-completion, fully bespoke service. Creative Founder, Emma Sims-Hilditch is passionate about her belief that good design can transform not only how people live but also how they feel. By creating characterful, beautiful and intelligent interiors, Emma and the Sims Hilditch team empowers clients to radically improve the quality of their lives.
Cortney Bishop, principal design and owner of Cortney Bishop Design, founded the full-service interior design firm in 2007. She holds a BBA in business marketing from the University of Georgia, and pursued her design career by blending her passions for travel, art, fashion and music. Her wide-ranging talent and innate ability to mix patterns and hues has resulted in a robust portfolio of diverse, inspiring residential and commercial projects, each reflective of a client’s lifestyle, personality and aesthetic. With a vision that runs the gamut of style and structure, Bishop enjoys inspiring other creatives, clients and everyday people through design. In addition to running her design studio, Cortney also launched Harwood House, a line of woven textiles designed for season layering while offering a modern interpretation of classic patterns in collaboration with Holland & Sherry.
Natalie Tredgett is an interior designer known for her inimitable use of color in combination with distinctive artworks. Natalie encourages her clients to express their own creativity within the projects she creates with them – a Natalie Tredgett designed space is a clear representation of the client with her unique perspective running through it. Natalie founded her studio in 2012 having established herself under design guru Nicky Haslam. She trained in Interior Design at KLC, has an MBA from the University of Edinburgh, holds a Bachelor of Art from the University of Western Ontario and has a background in management consultancy. Natalie Tredgett Design has recently moved to a new studio in the heart of Notting Hill, London.
Deeply curious about the link between the things we make and buy, and their impact on our environment, Sebastian runs a business with his wife Brogan which makes furniture from British wood; they also manage woodland and mill trees to give them material to work with, deepening their understanding of the connection between resources and habitats. They’ve won awards for their work, which spans individual pieces for private clients, contract projects with public bodies and brands, and ongoing relationships with architects and interior designers. This gives them a broad understanding of how to bring beautiful design into useful, meaningful spaces, while having a positive impact on the natural world.
Henriette studied at City & Guild of London Art Schools and gained a master’s degree at Sotheby’s Institute where she honed her appreciation and love for antique furniture and decorative design from 17th Century through to 20th Century. She was also very much involved in country house sales which fed her appetite for beautiful architecture of historical interest. Deciding to move into interior design, Henriette studied at the prestigious Inchbald School of Design. On graduating she gained experience with leading interior designers including Stephen Ryan who had been head of David Hicks Design. She also had a spell in theatre design which enabled her to indulge her more flamboyant side and made her realise just how much she relishes any challenge.
Birdie’s creative journey started when she worked at Percy Bass, an interiors shop and design service on Walton Street. Birdie then went on to join Imogen Taylor’s team at Sibyl Colefax & John Fowler’s old premises in Mayfair. Many buying trips later and with a decorative antiques course from the V&A Museum under her belt, Birdie decided to set up her own antiques business. Establishing the business in Norfolk in 2014, Birdie initially focused on sourcing homeware from Scandinavia, pieces that weren’t easily found in the UK, before creating her own designs. From block-printed fabrics to unusual table lamps Birdie’s discerning eye enables her to create unique designs that sit comfortably alongside the antiques and contemporary art sourced from artists both local and further afield.
Tricia Guild OBE is the creative force of Designers Guild and has been at the forefront of interior design since starting the company in the early ’70s. Internationally renowned for her passion for color, pattern and texture as well as her signature lifestyle brand and books, Tricia Guild has been setting the pace with her dynamic and innovative collections, instantly recognisable for her unique and contemporary style.
Charu Gandhi is Founder & Director, Elicyon. Charu Gandhi is a qualified Architect, registered with RIBA and ARB, who studied and taught at the Architectural Association before joining the London offices of Allies & Morrison Architects in 2006, where she worked on exceptional residential and hospitality projects in Beirut, Kerala and Qatar. Her portfolio of commissions also included the Doha National Library and the London Olympics Masterplan. Now in its seventh year, Elicyon is creating luxury, bespoke interiors for private clients, residential developers and boutique hotels in some of London’s most illustrious addresses, as well as around the world. Elicyon’s recent projects include the first ever show apartment at Chelsea Barracks, private homes within Claridges, Mayfair Park Residences and boutique property development, Beaufort Gardens in Kensington. Elicyon is also currently working on a number of ambitious, large scale projects in the Middle East.
Interiors editor and brand consultant, Kerryn Harper-Cuss has worked on four interior magazines and edited three of these, most recently The English Home, where she was Editor-in-Chief of both its UK and US editions for almost 12 years. She now writes for a number of high caliber publications, moderates design seminars and is particularly delighted to pen profile features on world-class interior designers for a regular slot on the Homes & Gardens website. She is passionate about craftsmanship and slow living, endlessly curious about the stories of makers and a keen champion of specialist indigenous skills both from Britain and around the globe. She is also ambassador for QEST and Design Havens for Heroes.
I’m houses editor for Homes & Gardens online. I’ve been writing and editing features on interiors and gardens for nearly 30 years, starting out at Ideal Home magazine. I’ve also moved house quite a few times – totting up 10 homes in 12 years during a particularly nomadic time in my life. I like to think that makes me quite the homes expert, or at least very experienced and with a clear idea of what I like and don’t like in a home.
Arabella is a freelance journalist writing for national newspapers, magazines and websites including Homes & Gardens, Country Life, The Telegraph and The Times. For many years she has specialized in writing about property and interiors, but she began her career in the early 2000s working on the newly launched Country Life website, covering anything from competitions to find the nation’s prettiest vicarage to the plight of rural post offices. Moving across to the magazine, she became the property editor and also was responsible for spear-heading its new regular interiors section, which has now a firm fixture in its make up. In 2016, she left her position as property and interiors editor and went freelance.
Formerly the Head of Solved of Homes & Gardens, I now freelance as the Contributing Editor. I have been working in digital journalism for six years, having worked in SEO for News UK in both New York and London as well as contributing to several lifestyle and homes brands. I studied French & Italian at UCL and am currently completing an interior design diploma.
Linda graduated from university with a First in Journalism, Film and Broadcasting. Her love for interiors began when she bought her first utter wreck of a home two decades ago, and she realized writing about interiors would make her far happier. She began on a trade title for the kitchen and bathroom industry. She has been working for Homes & Gardens, then sister-brands Livingetc, Country Homes & Interiors and Ideal Home, since 2006, covering all manner of interiors topics, though kitchens and bathrooms are her specialism. The late Mark Wilkinson OBE was (and still is) her all-time design hero.
Sarah is a freelance journalist and editor writing for websites, national newspapers, and magazines. She’s spent most of her journalistic career specializing in homes – long enough to see refrigerators become smart, decorating fashions embrace both minimalism and maximalism, and interiors that blur the indoor/outdoor link become a must-have. She loves testing the latest home appliances, revealing the trends in furnishings and fittings for every room, and investigating the benefits, costs and practicalities of home improvement. It’s no big surprise that she likes to put what she writes about into practice, and is a serial house revamper. For H&G, Sarah writes features about interior design and dispenses hard won advice on housekeeping, renovating and building.
Hayley is an interiors journalist, content provider and copywriter with 26 years experience who has contributed to a wide range of consumer magazines, trade titles, newspapers, blogs and online content. Specialising in kitchens and bathrooms, she has twice won the CEDIA Award for Best Technology feature and has spent the last few years doing up her house in Hampshire. She loves the industrial look and is still a fan of grey in all its many forms.

Yvette’s first steps into interior journalism came several years ago when she joined the team at specialist consumer magazine Kitchens Bedrooms & Bathrooms, which is where her love for home design (and obsession for decorating) began to truly flourish. She worked on the title in a variety of positions, before being appointed as Features Editor on Essential Kitchen Bathroom Bedroom magazine, further cementing her voice as an expert in the three core rooms of our homes. With a keen eye for new trends and innovations, Yvette continues to write about homes and interiors as a freelance journalist, sharing tried and tested advice for renovation projects and top tips for transforming your home into something beautiful.
After nearly 10 years working in the magazine industry, seasoned writer Tara decided to move on from her full-time position as a Content Editor and enter the exciting world of freelance, primarily covering the topics she’s most passionate about: interior design, wellbeing, craft and homemaking. Caroline Roberts, a certified KonMari Consultant and professional organizer, founded the organizing agency The Simplified Island in 2019. Caroline believes being organized goes much deeper than pretty bins and can be life-changing. She recognized her organizing and streamlining skills were unique as she ran her marketing agency, Coastal Connections Marketing, and raised her two sons.
Caroline holds a BA in Journalism from the University of North Carolina and an MBA from East Carolina University. Her organizing work with clients blends the foundations of the KonMari method with her distinct vision of how the client’s home can better support the client. Caroline has a natural curiosity that allows her to dig deep when decluttering with her clients, and she has an eye for creating organized spaces that are beautiful and functional. The Simplified Island works with residential and commercial clients in person and virtually.
A few years ago, Sarah Dunn started helping friends declutter and organize their own spaces. Realizing that transforming one’s environment leads to much greater and more consequential transformation, she founded Ready Set Organize, a team of eight organizers in San Diego, CA.

A trained designer, she has also worked with leading architecture and design practices including dRMM and Keechdesign.
Lara has worked in the ever-changing world of interiors and lifestyle journalism for many years. She cut her teeth in a busy newsroom of a kitchen and bathroom business title where she gained vast product knowledge and industry contacts that would prove invaluable. She now freelances for a variety of magazines, newspapers and online blogs and relishes the changing landscape of the interiors world. She loves writing about all aspects of the home and finding out about the latest color trends, furniture designers and must-have prints that we all need in our lives.
Alex Temblador is a Mixed Latinx award-winning author and freelance writer based in Dallas, Texas. Sophie has been an interior stylist and journalist for over 20 years and has worked for many of the main interior magazines during that time, both in-house and as a freelancer. On the side, as well as being the News Editor for indie magazine, 91, she trained to be a florist and recently launched The Prettiest Posy where she curates beautiful flowers for modern weddings and events. For H&G, Sophie writes features about interior design – and is known for having an eye for a beautiful room.
Marc Lupo is an entertainment writer, producer, and host. In addition to contributing celebrity content to Homes & Gardens, Marc serves as a weekly co-host for iHeart Radio’s ‘Naughty but Nice’ podcast. Throughout his career, Marc has conducted hundreds of interviews with celebrities including Helen Mirren and Hugh Jackman. A native New Yorker, Marc has covered some of entertainment’s biggest events, including The Grammys, Met Gala, MTV’s Video Music Awards, VH1’s Trail Blazer Honors and Variety’s Women of Power luncheon. He was even in attendance when Cardi B threw her shoe at Nicki Minaj during a NYFW event held at The Plaza Hotel. Marc is credited as a supervising producer and on-air contributor for several Us Weekly produced documentary specials including Luke Perry: In His Own Words, which aired on The Reelz Channel in spring 2019, and College Admissions Scandal: Varsity Blues which aired in winter 2020. Camille is the former deputy editor of Real Homes where she covered a broad range of topics, including house tours, small space design, and gardens. She studied English language and Italian at the University of Manchester and during a year abroad studying linguistics and history of art in Bologna, Italy she started documenting her adventures and observations in a blog. Post-university Camille got more hands-on experience writing for websites, regional magazines and PR companies, typically covering fashion, beauty, healthcare and local events. Some years later, she launched into SEO and copywriting before focusing on more journalistic content. Camille is always creating and spends her downtime painting, taking photos, traveling, and writing short stories.

The products in our buying guides are very carefully chosen by our journalists based on specialist expertise and rigorous in-house testing. But we also conduct in-depth research into expert reviews, user reviews and ratings these products are given so that we can reflect not just our experience of the products we include, but yours, the consumers, too.
Our guides include many of the retailers you shop with, including our trusted merchants, so that the unbiased shortlist we bring you includes the best products on the market at the time of writing.

Our experienced reviewers give each product a score out of five for the criteria leading to a total that translates to a star rating, that we then assign a Homes & Gardens badge to.
